I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself—not just as a therapist, but as a person.
I’m Cristiane, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Roswell, GA. I specialize in anxiety and trauma, and I love helping children, teens, and adults quiet the overthinking, heal from past experiences, and find more balance in their lives.
I also have a special place in my heart for individuals with ADHD and Autism. A neurodivergent brain certainly has its challenges, but it can also be pretty amazing. There are so many strengths, perspectives, and unique ways of seeing the world that deserve to be recognized and celebrated.
I’m passionate about children’s development and parenting, which is why I love presenting workshops for parents and giving them practical tools and knowledge they can actually use at home.
And lately, I’ve been especially excited about working with teen girls. Helping them build confidence, develop life skills, understand their emotions, and plant little seeds of knowledge that may stay with them for years is incredibly rewarding to me.
But outside of the therapy room, I’m just a wife and mom living my own imperfect life—with my own struggles, lessons, and little victories. I’m proud of the mom I am, although I’ve certainly questioned myself along the way. (I think most moms can relate!)
I love spending time with my husband, my kids, and my friends. I love being outdoors, staying active, going to the gym, and cheering on my kids in their activities and sports.
Since my teenage years I have been very interested in understanding psychology. I was fascinated with the fact that a simple drawing could reveal people’s personality or mental status. So, deciding to go to college and study Psychology was an easy decision to me. I began my studies in Psychology at a University in Brazil, UNIMEP, a 5 and 1/2 year full time program, and graduated with the title of Psychologist. Then I got my Master’s in Professional Counseling at Georgia State University in order to get my license in the United States.
I’m very passionate about helping my clients, listening to their life stories and providing support in order for them to heal and grow and attain the life goals that they wish for.
It is very rewarding to watch my clients' process of healing and overcoming struggles.
“If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life”
Besides helping others, I really enjoy spending time with my family, and friends. I also like to practice sports. Once in a while I sign up for things that challenge my mind and body like triathlons and races. I have found that more important than training my body for races what really determines my ability to complete is my mindset. I think the human mind is so powerful and have tested it myself.
